Dystopia on the doorstep

If not for the parked cars, you could think of the gray factory in the background as the creative act of a set designer for a dystopian science-fiction movie. The edges of the building look as angular as if they had been sanded and the three alleged chimneys on the front blow something up, which – for the sake of one’s life’s rest – does not really know what it is. I think of „Soylent Green“, „Fahrenheit 451“ or „1984“.

In fact, it is a work of BWM near Landshut and while it looks scary and the environmental impact is certainly not insignificant, it has tremendous benefits for the people living in the area. Jobs and business tax revenues ensure that the region is thriving.

Fascinating, how close the negative and the positive are and how what is bad for one, is good for another.
